Google Account Recovery

I switched to a new phone, and suddenly, I couldn’t get in. Google was asking for a verification code, which they sent to my old number, a number I no longer had access to. Talk about panic! My Gmail contained all my work emails, personal messages, and even some important recovery options for other accounts. I felt like I was in the digital version of being locked out of my house without a key!
Here’s how I got through it:
1. Start with Google Account Recovery:
First, I went to the Google Account Recovery page. You’d be surprised how many options they give you to recover your account. I didn’t have my phone number, so it didn’t work.
2. Trusted Device Help:
If you’ve signed in from a device before (like an old laptop or tablet), Google may recognize it as a trusted device.
3. Backup or options:
Google also lets you use a recovery email if you’ve set one up. I didn’t set up my account, but luckily, I tried the technical option to regain access. And it worked! I was able to successfully log in.
Update Recovery Info: Once you’re back in, please update your email, phone number, and security questions, for the sake of your inbox! I learned the hard way how important this is.
Two-Factor Authentication: Set this up as soon as possible to avoid future issues.
Sometimes, trying to go through the Google system can feel like you’re going in circles, but with the right help, you can definitely get your account back.
